Things to do

One of our favorite meals in Santa Barbara! We highly recommend the bone marrow bruschetta and don't miss out on their delicious cocktails.

For our brunch-loving guests! This is a beautiful spot in downtown Santa Barbara with a delicious daily brunch. The menu changes often depending on what's locally in season - it has never disappointed!

We try to quickly stop in here every time we are in Santa Barbara for the hygee bun, a healthy-ISH version of a cinnamon roll. Our mouths our watering just typing it out! Be sure to grab a lot of napkins, it can get messy.

Cute and cozy modern Spanish tapas spot with a nice patio in the fun Funk Zone! Definitely make some time to walk around the area - a hip warehouse district about a block away from the ocean.

Our wonderful wedding planner met us here for the first time - his excellent taste in coffee may have helped seal the deal. One of their locations is across the street from the oldest part of town, The Presidio State Park, where the Spanish settled back in 1782. Grab a cup and walk around the gorgeous downtown!

In the Funk Zone - a fun part of Santa Barbara with lots to eat and drink. Lama Dog + Topa Topa are two breweries / bars connected in a larger buidling. Topa Topa has good beer and next door, Lama Dog, has a beer and wine selection. We've been told to try the Kombucha beer at Lama Dog.

Mexican restaurant with a fun vibe and delicious and inventive cocktails. As big fans of tequila and mezcal, especially when made spicy, we highly recommend this spot!

After Sahil (Sonal's younger brother's) graduation, Sonal joined her brother and friends to celebrate with a drink here and now wants to extend the stay after the wedding for a day or two in this beautiful location. They make some amazing drinks with a gorgeous view right on the water.

Very cool spot with a pretty industrial feel in the Funk Zone, and pretty looking and yummy tasting cocktails. They also have a great wine list and food.

Gorgeous botanitcal garden in Montecito (10 min drive from downtown Santa Barbara). 37-acre garden of rare and exotic plants that has been listed as of the 10 best gardens in the world.

Rent from Wheel Fun Rentals, which starts just by the Funk Zone by the water - a great starting point for cruising along scenic trails and beautiful sandy beaches.

35 miles from Santa Barbara, and on your way in if you're coming from San Francisco. Solvang is a charming city in Santa Ynez Valley known for its Danish-style architecture and many wineries.

For our history loving guests, visit the late 18th century Old Mission Santa Barbara which gave the name to the city.

Hike to inpiration point for a beautiful view. You can go the shorter option, starting at Tunnel Trail, for a 3.5 -mile hike roundtrip that starts on an easy paved road but makes its way to a trail that is steep in parts. Or the longer option, starting at Jesusita Trail, steep in parts that stretches about 7 miles.
